 WNPL Databases - Do you know there is a world of information available to you beyond Google?  Yes, that’s right – authoritative, credible, current, chock-full-of-good-research things.  Many of these databases require your WNPL barcode for access.

Math Tutor - Math Tutor volunteer Wilbert Stroeve returns with math tutoring for grades 5 – 12.  Look for Mr. Stroeve and the “Tutor Is In” signs in the study carrel near the reference desk, on Wednesdays from 6 – 8.  First come first serve but you may call in advance to make sure he is here.

Tutor.com -  If you need help factoring a polynomial at midnight, you can connect to an algebra tutor. Or, if you need help balancing a chemical equation before school, you can work with a chemistry tutor. Any subject, any time, we can help because tutors are always available-you never need an appointment.   You will need to have your library card available to log in to the site.

Online version of the popular annual Time Almanac. You can browse by topic or search. All-in-one encyclopedia, almanac, dictionary, thesaurus, atlas, and biography reference! Includes the Random House Websters College Dictionary and the Columbia Encyclopedia.

OneLook Dictionaries
A fast dictionary search tool which allows you to look up a word in 350 different dictionaries simultaneously, or pick specific dictionaries from a grouping of subject-specific ones. Includes Internet/computer, science, technology, business, sports, religion, acronym, and general dictionaries. You can also browse the dictionaries individually.

Factbites: Where results make sense.
Factbites is a hybrid of a search engine and an online encyclopedia that provides coherent sentences and links to related topics in the results.

Guidelines and rules for proper grammatical usage, citation formats, or paper writing from the APA (American Psychological Association). APA style is often used in social science works.

Chicago Manual of Style/Turabian

Guidelines and rules on proper grammatical usage, citation formats, or paper writing from either the Chicago Manual of Style or Kate L. Turabian’s A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, 6th ed., 1996. Turabian style is based off the Chicago Manual of Style but is intended more for scholarly and scholastic writing done by students.
